Data Drop - New EP - New Songs - out 09 / 07 / 2021
I am excited to announce that a lock down conceived side project is about to be birthed to sing these times.
The musical aesthetics of GFX may be a little surprising for those familiar with the Gentrified Feral sound. Those who know the nerd I can be will not be so surprised that each of the 6 songs in the Data Drop EP will be accompanied by a brief sister essay. The essays don’t explain the songs, each is its own thread that cross in multiple places before going on their own way. At the end of this weaving I have found a cohesive tapestry useful in these crazy times.
The songs and words mediate a dialogue between these times and the thinkers I have communed with over the years including Erich Fromm, Hannah Arendt, Marcus Garvey, Friedrich Nietzsche, Catherine Mackinnon, Joseph Campbell, Norman Doidge, George Orwell, Frantz Fanon , Charles Darwin, Robin Dunbar, Stephen Karpman, Charles Bergman and the myths of various cultures at various times.
Anyone want to guess a few themes likely to emerge?
I am sure you will find some relevance, interest and enjoyment in this GFX data drop.
